Who I Am

The Person Behind the Publication

My work at CarDrav is editorial: researching cars, comparing models, and turning what I find into guidance that’s actually useful when you’re trying to make a decision.

I’m not a mechanic, and CarDrav isn’t a workshop. My background is in research, writing, and automotive analysis — reading specification sheets, tracking model-year changes, and following where the industry is heading.

Why I Built CarDrav

Built from Genuine Interest

CarDrav started as a personal project. I’ve always been the person who reads every trim level before recommending a car to a friend, tracking changes between model years, and understanding the reasoning behind a spec sheet.

Over time, that habit turned into something worth publishing — grounded in research, honest about trade-offs, and written for real buyers.

Editorial Approach

How I Approach Automotive Content

I’m Rex, the Founder and Chief Editor of CarDrav, an independent automotive website built to help readers better understand cars and make more informed decisions.

My approach to automotive writing goes beyond simply listing specifications or repeating information from a manufacturer. When I work on an article, I research the vehicle or topic from multiple angles, compare reliable information, look at model-year changes, trims, features, competitors, technology, and practical considerations, and then turn that research into something useful and easy to understand.

I’m particularly interested in the details that actually matter when someone is considering a vehicle. That can mean understanding the differences between model years, deciding which trim makes the most sense, comparing a vehicle with its closest competitors, or looking beyond the headline specifications to understand the strengths, weaknesses, and real-world considerations that may affect a buying decision.

What CarDrav Covers:
CarDrav covers car reviews, model comparisons, buying guides, electric and hybrid vehicles, automotive technology, industry developments, and useful automotive products and accessories.

When I write, I try to keep the experience human and straightforward. I don’t want every car to sound perfect, and I don’t simply repeat the language used in marketing material. I look at what a vehicle does well, where it falls short, who it makes sense for, and what a potential buyer should know before making a decision.

I also pay close attention to how automotive information changes over time. Model years evolve, trims are updated, technology moves quickly, and the market constantly changes. That is why I regularly research current information and revisit important details when developing and updating CarDrav content.

My goal is simple: to make automotive information clearer, more practical, and more useful.

CarDrav is more than a collection of car articles to me. It is a publication I am building step by step, with the aim of becoming a dependable resource for people who want to understand cars better before they buy, compare, or simply explore what is happening in the automotive world.

Sources & Research

How I Research and Verify Information

Before an article is published on CarDrav, I research the subject from multiple reliable sources rather than relying on a single specification sheet or a manufacturer’s marketing material.

For vehicle coverage, I start with official manufacturer information, including specifications, trims, features, model-year changes, and equipment. I then compare that information with reputable automotive sources, industry information, and other reliable references when additional context is needed.

I also pay close attention to changes between model years and generations. A vehicle can look almost identical from one year to the next while receiving important changes to its powertrain, technology, safety features, pricing, or available trims. Understanding those differences is an important part of how I approach automotive research.

When comparing vehicles, I look beyond individual specifications. I consider how a vehicle compares with its closest competitors, what its strengths and weaknesses are, which features actually matter to buyers, and whether the price and equipment make sense within its segment.

For topics involving automotive technology, electric vehicles, accessories, or broader industry developments, I follow the same principle: verify the important facts, compare information where appropriate, and separate established information from claims, expectations, or future developments.

Research is the foundation of CarDrav’s editorial process, but the goal is not to collect as many facts as possible. The goal is to turn reliable information into clear, practical guidance that helps readers understand what actually matters before making a decision.

Research first. Clarity second. The reader’s decision always comes first.

Editorial Process

What Goes Into an Article Before It’s Published

1

Start with the specification sheet

Manufacturer data, trims, equipment, and pricing establish the factual baseline for the article.

2

Map the generation and model-year changes

Understanding what’s genuinely new versus carried over from a previous year or generation.

3

Check it against the competition

A car’s specs only mean something in context — comparable vehicles set the bar it’s measured against.

4

Research real ownership considerations

Reliability patterns, practicality, and the kind of detail that matters once a car is actually owned.

5

Write for the decision, not the data

The final step is turning research into a clear answer: who this car is for, and who it isn’t.

Editorial Independence

Independent by Design

CarDrav is an independent automotive publication, and editorial decisions are made with the reader in mind.

The vehicles, products, comparisons, and topics I choose to cover are not selected simply because a manufacturer or company wants them featured. I decide what is worth researching based on its relevance to readers, the questions buyers are asking, and the information that can genuinely help someone understand a vehicle or make a better decision.

I also try to keep a clear distinction between factual information and marketing language. Manufacturer specifications and official information are important sources, but they are not automatically treated as an endorsement. I look at the information in context and consider the strengths, limitations, alternatives, and practical considerations that matter to a potential buyer.

Where CarDrav includes commercial or affiliate links, they do not determine the conclusions of an article. A recommendation should be based on the usefulness and relevance of the subject, not on whether it generates a commercial benefit.

My goal is simple: give readers useful information they can trust, without turning editorial content into advertising.

That independence is an important part of how I am building CarDrav.

Keeping CarDrav Current

Automotive Information Changes

The automotive world changes quickly. Model years evolve, trims are added or discontinued, prices change, technology develops, and new vehicles can change the way an entire segment is compared.

That is why I do not treat publishing an article as the end of the research process. When important information changes, I review relevant CarDrav content and update it where necessary.

For vehicle coverage, that can mean checking current specifications, model-year changes, available trims, pricing, technology, competitors, and other details that may affect a buyer’s decision.

I also recognize that not every article needs to be updated simply because a new model year exists. Some topics remain useful over time, while others require more frequent attention. The goal is to keep information accurate and useful without changing an article unnecessarily.

CarDrav is still growing, and I am building its editorial library step by step. As the publication develops, maintaining accurate, current, and useful information will remain an important part of that process.

The goal is not simply to publish more. It is to keep what we publish useful.

Contact & Editorial Feedback

Get in Touch

CarDrav is built with readers in mind, and feedback is part of that process. If you notice an outdated detail, an error, a missing piece of information, or simply have a question about something covered on CarDrav, I welcome you to get in touch.

I cannot guarantee that every suggestion will result in a change, but I take useful feedback seriously and review it when updating the publication. Good automotive information should be an ongoing conversation, not a one-way publication.
