About BMW

The German luxury automaker Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, commonly known as BMW, has produced some of the most intriguing and high-performing cars for the American market throughout its history. It is a component of the giant BMW Group, which owns Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and MINI.
The genesis of BMW may be traced back to Bayerische Flugzeugwerke, or BFW, a company that produced aircraft motors and was founded in 1916. Five years before buying a BFW factory, Bayerische Motoren Werke was formed in 1917. With the introduction of the boxer-engined R32, BMW began producing motorcycles. It had the 3/20 PS, its first internally designed car in 1932. Despite significant challenges related to World War II, BMW eventually became one of the market’s top luxury companies.
The first BMW to be brought into the United States was the 1956 Isetta microcar, even though BMW did not launch its North American operations until 1975. The founding of BMW North America coincided with the country’s first BMW dealership, introducing the new 3 Series car to customers in 1977.
BMW now offers 16 distinct nameplates in its range. It provides a range of customers with sedans, crossovers, wagons, SUVs, coupes, convertibles, and electrics. Over the last ten years, its reputation for producing some of the market’s most enthusiast-focused cars has suffered significantly. However, it’s assured engines and balanced chassis tuning will still draw consumers in.
